Weeds spring up.

Still, my local nurseries do have some winter bloomers for sale but it is very difficult to "dress up" the entire yards to make it colorful and most people use this time of the year to do maintenance work, such as trimming trees, removing weeds, relocating plants, adding composts, etc, in order to get ready for the coming spring.
